The CDTI 2022 grant for the financing of R&D&I projects have been approved. Called by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. And with a total budget of 456.000.000€, being the minimum budget per project of 175.000€.
CDTI 2022 grant for R&D&I projects
CDTI grant are intended to promote the creation or significant improvement of a production process, product or service. The projects must demonstrate a differential technological aspect over existing technologies on the market.
Who can apply
Companies that are validly constituted, have their own legal personality and tax domicile in Spain. Importantly, they must develop an R&D project in Spain. Consortiums made up of companies, which must be formalized by means of a private collaboration agreement, may apply for aid for collaborative projects (typology b and c).
The application period is open all year round.
What does the CDTI 2022 grant for R&D&I projects consist of?
Fixed interest rate: 1-year Euribor. Aid from 25% to 85% of the approved budget, depending on the type of company and line of aid (type of project). With a fixed interest rate of 1-year Euribor and a repayment term of 10 or 15 years. Including a grace period of between 2 and 3 years.
In addition, it has a non-refundable tranche of between 20% and 33% of the aid. And an advance of 35% of the aid can be requested up to a limit of €250,000, with no additional guarantees required.
The company must contribute at least 15% of the project budget with its own resources.
What expenses or actions are covered
Firstly, personnel expenses. Researchers, technicians and other auxiliary personnel, to the extent that they are dedicated to the research project.
Secondly, costs of instruments and material and costs of contractual research, knowledge and patents acquired or licensed from external sources at market prices. And the costs of consultancy and equivalent services exclusively dedicated to the project.
In addition, supplementary overhead costs directly derived from the research project.
Other operating expenses, including costs of materials, supplies and similar products, arising directly from the project.
-Finally, the cost of the auditor’s report, with a maximum limit of €2,000 per beneficiary and milestone. And the costs of management and coordination of the project with a limit of € 6,000 per beneficiary and milestone. Increasing up to €8,000 for R&D projects in International Technological Cooperation.
Duration of R&D projects
R&D projects will have a duration of 12 to 36 months, with the exception of the following categories:
- National Cooperation R&D Projects (typology b), will have a duration of 12 to 48 months.
- CIEN Projects (typology c) will have a minimum duration of 36 months and a maximum of 48 months.
All projects may have one or more technical milestones, whose duration should be from 9 to 18 months.
