New grants have been approved for innovative companies within the Neotec 2022 program. Aimed at financing the start-up of business projects that require the use of technology or knowledge acquired from research. The business strategy must be based on the development of technology.
Grants for new business projects of innovative companies in the Neotec 2022 program.
Small innovative companies, incorporated no later than July 5, 2019, may apply. With a minimum share capital, or share capital plus issue or assumption premium, of €20,000. They are not listed and have not distributed profits. They must be up to date in the fulfillment of the obligations of deposit of annual accounts, if applicable, deposited in the Mercantile Registry or corresponding official registry on the date of presentation of the application for aid.
The aids may be destined to business projects in any technological and/or sectorial field. However, business projects whose business model is based primarily on services to third parties, without developing their own technology, are not eligible for this call. Priority is given to the incorporation of people with a doctorate degree to the company to strengthen its capacity to absorb and generate knowledge.
The application deadline is from May 20, 2022 to July 5, 2022, at 12 noon.
What does the grant consist of?
The aid may amount to up to 70% of the eligible budget of the action, with a maximum grant amount of 250,000 euros per applicant.
If the company hires at least one doctor, up to 85% of the eligible budget may be financed. With a maximum subsidy amount of €325,000.
In any case, the minimum budget to be financed must be €175,000, excluding training expenses.
What expenses or actions are covered?
The following costs may be subsidized
- investments in equipment
- personnel expenses (in the terms foreseen in the bases with a maximum hourly cost of 40€)
- external collaborations/consulting
- other costs such as: rents, supplies, royalties and licenses, application and maintenance expenses for patents and other industrial property rights, insurance and expenses derived from the auditor’s report. The latter will have a maximum limit of €2,000.
Subcontracting may reach up to a maximum percentage of 50% of the financeable budget.
Grants may be requested for annual or multi-year actions. In any case, the eligible actions must start on or after January 1, 2023. And they may end on December 31, 2023, in the case that the project has a duration of one year. Or on December 31, 2024, if the project has a duration of two years.
Once the application has been approved, an advance payment of up to 60% of the grant awarded for the project may be requested, with a maximum of €150,000.
