The Bonus for Reduction in Labour Accidents in companies is provisionally suspended.
On previous occasions we have published how to apply for this bonus. Which consists of applying for the reduction in contributions for professional contingencies. For companies with a low rate of occupational accidents. And provided that they have implemented effective measures in the prevention of accidents at work and occupational diseases.
Suspension of the Bonus for Reduction of the Work Accident Rate.
Article 7.8 of Royal Decree-Law 18/2019, BOE dated 28/12/2019, provisionally suspends, as of 1 January 2020, the application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies to companies that have considerably reduced the number of accidents at work. This was provided for in Royal Decree Law 231/2017.
This suspension will have effects for the contributions generated during the year 2020.
However, this year as in previous years, the period for applying for the Bonus for Reduction in Workplace Accidents for 2019 was to be opened between 15 April and 30 May.
However, the Royal Decree-Law 28/2018, BOE dated 29/12/2018, abolished the system of contribution reductions for professional contingencies due to a decrease in the number of accidents at work for the financial year 2019. This was subject to the Government reforming the aforementioned Royal Decree-Law 231/2017, something that has not taken place until now.
