The Dirección General de la Mujer (General Directorate for Women) and with co-funding from the European Social Fund, the Community of Madrid has been granting the Madrid Empresa Flexible Awardsince 2004, with the aim of recognising companies that favour flexibility and equality through programmes that encourage a work-life balance for employees.
For us, this acknowledgement is also a confirmation of the path to follow, and recognition that we are on the right path.
Not only does establishing HR policies that recognise equality and integration, and that encourage work-life balance and respect for our surroundings, bring us closer to a more equal society. It also has tangible benefits on company profits, since it has been proven that this type of policies, most of which require a virtually non-existent expense, or in some cases, a small investment has a long-term positive impact on human resources who are more committed to the company, and much more motivated, and thus more efficient and productive.
These awards go to three company categories: small, medium and large companies. In fact, these kind of measures can be applied to any activity, whether you have a larger or a smaller team.
