The first call for applications for the Tourism Experiences Spain Program has been launched by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. They are endowed with 26 million euros to be financed with Next Generation EU funds. The objective is to increase and improve the experiences that make up Spain’s tourism offer. The aim is to promote innovative and transformative initiatives of experiences at national level or in at least three Autonomous Communities. In order to facilitate their promotion in international markets.
Aids to the program Tourism Experiences Spain 2021
The deadline for submitting applications will open on February 15. From next February 15, 2022 and until March 15, 2022, the deadline to apply for this first call for aid will remain open and whose regulatory bases have been published in the BOE (Official State Gazette).
Of the 26 million euro budget, five million will be reserved for projects related to Xacobeo 21-22. The maximum amount for each grant will be 2,000,000€, and the minimum, 200,000€.
Beneficiaries
The following applicants may participate in the call for proposals:
- Associations or Federations legally registered in the National Register of Associations. Regulated in Royal Decree 949/2015 approving the Regulations of the National Register of Associations. Or equivalent in the Autonomous Communities.
- Foundations, legally registered in the corresponding Registries.
- Economic interest groupings, regulated by Law 12/1991 and legally registered in the corresponding Mercantile Register.
- Tourist companies or SMEs, established in any autonomous community. Provided that they are registered in the Tourism Registry of the Autonomous Community where they have their fiscal domicile. And they are active on the date of application.
- Public entities that act as entities of municipal, regional or provincial tourist cooperation, and public societies with own juridical personality linked or dependent of these.
- Public entities that act as entities of tourist cooperation of autonomous scope, and public societies with own juridical personality linked or dependent on autonomous communities.
Beneficiaries may apply individually or as part of a cooperation project. The actions must affect the territory of at least three Autonomous Communities.
To help interested parties when submitting their application to the Ministry’s electronic registry once the call period opens, the Secretary of State for Tourism has made available a participant’s guide. It will be accessible through the Ministry’s website. A mailbox has also been set up to answer any questions: experiencias@mincotur.es
Lines of action
The projects that are presented to the call must be framed in one of the following three lines:
Firstly, the so-called Innova line. Its objectives are to promote and strengthen networks of actors and create narratives on inspiring experiences that build stories at the country level. Improve resources and promote the improvement of tourism sustainability. And to deepen the digital transformation of the processes of Experiencias Turismo España.
Secondly, Integra. It aims to promote that the tourism experience incorporates in its design the local productive context close to the destinations. Adapting to the different realities, through the dynamics of circular economy. Local communities and the diversity of profiles and segments in the design of experiences.
Finally, Communicate. Seeks to improve the communication of Tourism Experiences Spain. And turn them into one of the pillars of the external promotion of our country. Areas related to security and resilience will receive special attention.
